Easy ways to remove old putty from window glass

The putty is used to seal the glass around the window frame so that the heat or cold cannot enter or leave the windows and stand firm against the frame and not vibrate. This putty hardens faster and generally makes it even more over time, especially as the sun beats down on it through the glass. You can become hardened and solid plastic and is difficult to remove.

Cleaning

There are a number of oils and other products that can loosen and remove the compounds of putty window glass. Goo Gone or Easy Off oven cleaner, which is made very difficult for dirt work on the putty window, but it takes some time, as you have to apply it, let it settle in the sun for fifteen to twenty minutes then scrape with a chisel or a razor blade. However, heat also heats the glass putty significantly and can cause breakage, so be sure not to hold the gun heat too close to the glass.
