How to clean a crystal chandelier. Your delicate chandelier will glow more brightly without all that dust and dirt. Here’s how they shine again.
You will need
- Spray Bottles
- Cleaning Cloths
- Ammonia
- Cleaning Fluids for spiders
- Isopropyl Alcohol
- Masking Tape
- Distilled water
- Sandwich Bags
- Rubber bands
Instructions
- Connect the alternative lighting nearby (and you will not be able to use the lamp for lighting while you’re cleaning).
- Turn off the power to the lamp from the wall switch. Place a piece of tape over the switch on the wall so no one can accidentally turn it on while you’re working.
- Cover the bulbs point up with bags for sandwiches. Secure the bags with rubber bands.
- Put a spider plugs below.
- A solution of a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and three parts of ammonia in distilled water. Or, if you want to mix your own cleaner, buy a cleanser especially for spiders in a lighting store. Put some solution in a spray bottle.
- Sprinkle each side of the device with the cleaner, avoiding wires and other electrical components.
- Allows dripping crystals dry. If your lamp is too dirty to use this method of cleaning drip, you have to hand wash each crystal individually with the cleaning solution.
- Bring plastic bags lights once the crystals are dry, and clean the mounting lights and other parts that are not made of glass with a soft cloth moistened with cleaner.
- Let it all apply to dry overnight before restarting.
